Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Shawn Taheri is a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. He was raised in northern California, and completed his undergraduate work at U.C. Berkeley. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from U.C. San Francisco School of Dentistry, which is the number-one-ranked dental school in the country. He could have started practicing as a general dentist; however, he proceeded to complete three additional years of postdoctoral training at U.C. San Francisco, Oakland Children’s Hospital, and San Francisco General Hospital to become a certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Taheri currently is an associate clinical professor of pediatric dentistry at UCSF School of Dentistry. He has been training residents and future pediatric dentists in the 3 year residency program for over 24 years.
Dr. Taheri is highly trained in all aspects of pediatric dentistry, including behavioral management, conscious sedation, and dental restoration under general anesthesia. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed professional journals. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and California Dental Association.
